(updated 18 April 2012).
This site's taking on a new purpose and is now going to be dedicated to my African adventure in 2012. I've uploaded a blog and a page showing the route I'll be taking. Keep coming back as I'll be updating often. All of my old photos will remain on this site but the overall theme of the site will now be Africa-related. This is me. I'm from Melbourne, Australia. I work a suit-job & I’m about to ride a bike 12,000’ish kms through 10 African countries. This page will be used to share my experiences before, during and after my trip, which is due to take place from 25 December 2011 until late April 2012. I’ll be cycling from Cairo in Egypt to Cape Town in South Africa with 3 friends. We’ll be camping the majority of the time with and surviving only with the belongings we have with us on our bikes (i.e. not much). The route will take us through Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Botswana, Namibia and then into South Africa. This isn’t a trip to raise awareness for any cause, or for charity, or any other noble reason. People often ask me why I’m doing it and I really have no reason other than it’s there to be done. I don’t even know if I like riding a bike that much……………… This is by far the most daring thing I’ve ever done in my life and I’m equally terrified and excited. I really would like to hear from you. Your email will more than likely give me a much needed pep-up while I'm peddling my way through Africa. Email me at justinmolik@iinet.net.au |
